Battery inflation!!?

Question

Why has the prices in batteries gotten so bad? Are they made out of gasoline or something? Its like whatever the car industry thinks about converting too turns to gold. Its all politics i tells ya!

A lot of the metal prices have gone substantially up the last couple years.  Like Nickel has tripled in price.
