Battery light stays on when ignition is off.?

Question

I have just installed a kenwood car stereo in my peugeot 406 which works fine but the battery light stays on even when the ignition is off and key is out???????? Any ideas???

first off the peugeot 406 is a bad "A" rally..... second off check and ensure that the ignition wire isn't fused with the BAT+ wire some after market kits will have them really close.......which it will make the car think that it's hot wired......
