Question:

Battery powered light for my garage?

My detached garage has no outlets and no way to add power. I was thinking of using a spare motorcycle battery and rigging up some lights. Just a simple system with a light or two. I have a maintainer for when it runs low. How can I do this properly/safely?

  1. you would have to have a lot of this type of lights to be able to see well enough to do any work. if you want just enough light to see to move around , soler lights would work. i use them in my house for emergency lighting. you can get them at walmart. but make sure you get the flood light type. i put the panel on the outside the garage and mounted the light on the inside on the wall. i bought two sets about two months ago. they were 29.00 dollars for a set of three , i also have 6 of them on my deck rail . the batteries last almost a year on the deck . i bought the seperate lights for the house with their own panel they all work really well hope this helps you good luck.

  2. I would invest in a 12v solar panel and hook it up to your battery. Free electricity and your light is available 24/7. Use 12v DC lighting system.
