Batting consultant Inzamam urges Pakistan players to be aggressive on India tour – Cricket News Update
Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Inzamam-ul-Haq-c64383 has advised his batsmen to play positively and aggressively when the much-awaited limited overs series against archrival India starts in Bangalore later this month. The veteran batsman also predicted that the team that handles the pressure better will emerge victorious.
While speaking to media reporters on the sidelines of a conditioning camp here at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Inzamam said that the T20 and ODI squads picked up for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 tour have a lot of individual match-winners and whoever shows “aggression” will succeed in India.
"Playing in Indian conditions isn't different; we have been winning [there] and can win again," said Inzamam, who was appointed as the national batting consultant on Thursday. "It's only about pressure and how to handle it. What we need is to play aggressively and whoever copes with it [pressure] well, will play better," he added further.
Inzamam had not been associated with Pakistan cricket in any form since his retirement in 2007. This is the first time in five years that he has taken up a role with the national team.
The 42-year-old former top-order batsman’s first assignment as the national batting consultant is the tour of India commencing in Bangalore on December 25. He will spend a week with the players at the training camp in Lahore before the team leaves for India on December 22.
The veteran played 67 One Day Internationals against the archrivals during his illustrious career, compiling 2,403 runs including four centuries as well. As captain, he led the national team in 22 ODIs winning twelve of them, while losing 10.
Inzamam said that instead of working on the batsmen’s technique, he would prefer passing on his experience to the players.
"My job will be to pass on my playing experience to the players, rather than working on batsmen's techniques," the former Pakistan skipper told reporters at the end of the day's training. "I will be discussing with them how to chase, how to set a target and what's required while batting."
Pakistan team is scheduled to play two T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals against India, between December 25 and January 6 next year. This will be the first bilateral series between the two countries in five years.
