Batting will be the key at Dubai, believes Misbah-ul-Haq - Cricket News Update

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, the triumphant Pakistani skipper, on Monday said that batsmen will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the first Test of the three-match series starting at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai today, January 17, 201.
Speaking to the media after an extended final pre-match practice session on Monday, Misbah agreed the series opener in Dubai will be a real test for the batsmen of both sides.
"In Dubai whichever team bats good, gets an edge and its not only the game of spinners, I think fast bowlers also play a very important role, if you look at the last series (against Sri Lanka), the team which batted well won," said Misbah talking to the
media reporters on the eve of the first Test.
Replying to a query regarding the wicket at Dubai cricket stadium, Misbah said that it looked much better as compared to the one they had played on against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 last year. The Pakistani skipper was hopeful that conditions would help them; however, he
urged the side to show outstanding efforts if they are to beat the world’s number one test side.

"The wicket looks much better than the last Test we played here, we have a balanced attack and the conditions here favours us but at the same time its important to play good cricket against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013,” said Misbah who has not lost a Test match since taking over
as Pakistan skipper in October 2010.

"They are the top side in the world so we just can't rely on the fact that we know the conditions well. We still have to play good cricket to beat them," he added further.
To date, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has played  two Tests in Dubai, winning one against Sri Lanka while the five-dayer against the Proteas ended in a tame draw.
Second Test of the series will be played in Abu Dhabi from January 25 to 29, before the teams return to Dubai for the third and last test. The Three-match Test series will be followed by four ODIs and three T20 Internationals.
Though Misbah has said they would not rely only on spinners, the spin friendly conditions at Dubai suggest Pakistan would field both http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdur-Rehman-c41691 in the opening encounter of the three-Test series.
