It would be the ants as they work together as a community which would makes them strong, the spider could kill a 100 ants and they`d still win....

The spiders, i watched this thing on you tube where a spider was put in with loads of ants and it totalled them in no time. This one is similar to the one i watched, cant find the first one.

Provided it's a "neutral" environment that the battle is taking place in... the odds favor the ants.

...if the spiders had the opportunity to "set up" in the environment - weave a series of webs ... then the spiders could trap a majority of the ants and just kill & eat them at their leisure.
