Battle of the curries?

Question

After my Q yesterday there seems to be a curry from my own town which is claiming the prize however i won't be trying that one as i know people who have and they have said it is painful to eat and not many have finished a full plate.

Shame the pic in the article looks like boiled dog turds would you try the 2 hottest curries in the world to decide which was hotter?

Vindaloo is the strongest I would have as a matter of course. Would love to try the Bombay Burner one day. I'm growing Dorset Naga's at the moment - you have to wear gloves when handling the fruits!!!

I can understand why people would, as a kind of daredevil thing, but I can't eat hot curries, they don't agree with me (took me ages to find a nice way of saying that!)

Has to be a madras curry. It tastes good even in the morning, when you have been out the night before !

Like i said yesterday, am certain its not a patch on my Vindaloo...!

My Grandma used to say that the trick to a good curry is not just using the strongest & most pungent spices, its using the right combination... to bring out the flavour of them blended all together.  

Still have her recipes & they all go "a pinch of this" & "a handful of that"...i despair over whether she means a teaspoon or a tablespoon & am only just getting it right. Have to ask my Dad to check & see whether it tastes like hers...!

Edit: btw, Vindaloo is Portuguese in origin.  Legacy of the Portuguese in India.

Edit: Well, Agent Zero, i'm pretty sure the Vindaloo you've tasted is not the authentic one.

I prefer flavour to full on hotness in a curry.  I like a nice dopiaza personally.
