Battlefield 2 online how does it work?

ive been trying to play battlefield 2 online but im not sure how it works do u just buy the game then u can play online or do u have to buy the game then sign up for it and pay by month.. idk and if u do plz help

Buy the game, install it, patch it, make an online account and play.

It's free to play online.

The latest patch is 1.41, so you would install like this:

Install BF2

Install Special Forces if you have it

Patch to 1.41

Install Booster packs if you have them

Patch to 1.41 again.

You may also want to install Punkbuster Services and manually update Punkbuster before you play, so you don't get kicked of servers while it tries to auto update.
