Battyford Sam to lead the 462 metres Bags/Sis Easter Bunny Standard Heat 1 at Kinsley
Grade IR The Bags/Sis Easter Bunny Standard Heat 1 at Kinsley over 462 metres flat is to be raced on Tuesday, 6th March. The lineup of six that is in for contesting for the £200 prize money includes Ascot Marty, Battyford Sam, Bransa Steal, Astro Boy, Kingsmill Might and Prodigy Apache.
The most accomplished hound among those competing is Battyford Sam, Kinloch Brae’s two-year-old brindle son out of b***h Coolemount Flair, has made six starts during the season and has been successful four times, was placed once and got positioned fourth in one of his outings.
Battyford Sam won a Grade A4 462 metres Flat at Kinsley on 14th January and covered the track distance in 28.22 with a staggering 9 ¾ lengths’ lead. Reeling in for the wire right behind him was Caledonian Song who managed the track in 29.00 seconds.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Coxgreen Dysert, made it to the other end of the wire fifth behind the winner.
Battyford Sam stumbled onto a sixth position on his next start in Nottingham over 500 metres on 23rd January. It did not take long for the two-year-old to get composed and get back to the winning momentum right in his next start which actually went onto striking a hat trick eventually.
Battyford Sam’s performance got him winning the 650 metres race at Kinsley on 27th January by timing the distance in 41.49 seconds after breaking from the first stall. He took away the title by a mere shoulder’s margin from the runner up, Mays Westmead.
Battyford Sam’s next venture on the track was yet again at Kinsley but this time it was over 462 metres flat. He dominated the Grade A1 race by a length and was on the other end of the wire in 28.36 seconds.
Finishing right after the winner was Rockchase Ryves who joined Battyford Sam after 28.44 seconds.
Qualifying him for his hat trick was his victory in the 462 metres race at Kinsley on 28th February which he won by an amazing ten lengths while clocking the distance in 28.15 seconds. Parking right behind the winner was Fierce Talent.
If his seventh start will grant him the fifth victory celebration or not will unfold soon.
