Bawna Missile likely to stand first in Betfair Open 550 at Shelbourne Park
Although Bawna Missile is facing a tough opposition, he is expected to be dominant in the Betfair Open 550, taking place at Shelbourne Park on Thursday, May 10th.
The black dog is producing good results these days. He won three of his previous five races. The latest of his victories hit the headlines at the end of last month, when he locked the top spot in a 550 yards heat.
G. Holland’s trainee was not impressive in his last appearance at this venue. In a 600 yards heat, Westmead Hawk’s son failed to do anything special because of being bumped at the first bend.
The spectators at Shelbourne Park saw him sealing a close win in the mid of April. Maintaining good standards all the way through, the dashing hound seized the first place by a short head’s distance.
In today’s 550 yards Flat heat, he is facing five dangerous hounds including Barefoot Missile, Ushers Jim, Parkfield Harvey, Talktoyoulad and Skywalker Silk. The €500 event is scheduled to start at 22:10 GMT.
Barefoot Missile seems to the biggest threat to Bawna Missile. The white and black dog was not impressive last time around. In a 525 yards heat, he completed the order of finish.
A disappointing outcome would have dented his confidence, but still his class cannot be ignored. In mid April, he sealed a convincing win in a similar race. Let’s see how he manages things to repeat the show tonight.
Parkfield Harvey needs a special effort to trouble the judge. Prior to his recent solo outing, the black dog finished fifth in a 600 yards heat at this venue.
Talktoyoulad is yet to find consistently. After grabbing an emphatic win at the end of last month, the white and black lost his direction and as a result, finished fifth last time around.
Ushers Jim needs a bit of luck to do something special tonight. On the other hand, Skywalker Silk is unlikely do well against this line-up.
According to our calculations, it is going to be a hard battle between Barefoot Missile and Bawna Missile. The latter gets our vote, because he is in slightly better shape at the moment.
