Bawnfune Bound dominant in the De Vere Venues Classic
The two-year-old black hound, Bawnfune Bound, gets an assured nod for the Grade A2 De Vere Venues Classic that is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 29th November over 470 metres flat. Competing
for taking back their winner’s share from the prize money of £82 are, Night Time North, Bootle Tracer, Dacent Alma, Datona Quest and Barntick Joker.
The M. Barber trained is a very lightly raced hound and entered the racing profession in 2012 itself. He has the racing experience at Shelbourne Park and Belle Vue. His career too took off with the initial
drilling sessions and then the two-year-old was straight away sent to the open level.
Keeping in mind that the semi-final of the Makeshift @ Stud Open Unraced 525 was the very first open racing attempt of Head Bound’s son, he was remarkable with the second position.
The orange trap was entered as the favourite for the race and made the most out of every chance so as to beat down the winner, Milan Castle, who went cruising in for the wire at a much higher speed.
The fifth trap had to compromise with the final four lengths of the track distance.
He was declared not raced in his very next try at the similar level.
The black hound then went all out in the Grade A4 Sis Live Top Dog Deal A4 525 Semi-Final on 1st March, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
The evening’s favourite delivered just what was expected of him. The blue trap raced away quickly and led on from the second position nailing the race in 29.04 seconds.
He defeated Tarbrook Tornado by a length’s mark.
After four training sessions, one after the other, the two-year-old out of, Slip Road, won the next race.
Bawnfune Bound won the Grade A3 470 metres flat race on 23rd November, 2012 at Belle Vue over 470 metres.
Breaking in the same orange colour, his early pace and the quick lead got him the winner’s prize money in 28.55 seconds. The lead over the final 1 ¾ lengths had Antartica set into the second slot.
