Bayer Leverkusen suffered a shock 2-0 defeat in their opening Bundesliga fixture at the hands of FSV Mainz. Werkself were earlier knocked out from the German Cup also by 2.Bundesliga side Dynamo Dresden. The two losses have sparked a lot of criticism against

“Of course we have a new trainer who has different ideas about how we play, and that is why we got him. It will take a bit of time and that is normal we should not let the results provoke or shock us,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

He also stressed on the importance of three points and claimed that they do not want to lag behind the likes of Borussia Dortmund for the title race.
“After two defeats, it is important that we know we are strong, and we do. We will get it right and I am convinced we will get the three points. We have got to ensure that we turn the corner at the weekend against Werder Bremen,” he concluded.
