Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Tranquillo Barnetta, is set to stay in the country during this summer amidst interest from Juventus and Newcastle United. The player’s agent, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Moretti, has ruled out the possibility of his departure despite being confined
to the bench this season.
Barnetta suffered from a hip flexor injury during a pre-season friendly and is yet to make his first appearance this season.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 this summer in order to fill in the boots of departed Kevin Nolan. The latter has joined
the Championship side, West Ham United.
Juventus, who earlier pocketed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760 from the Werkself, also showed interest in the 26-year-old, though Barnetta’s agent has clearly stated that the player has no plans of leaving BayArena during the summer.
He further told that this transfer could take place next summer and it all depends on the fulfilment of Barnetta’s demands. Moretti mentioned that his client is happy in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 so far and apparently there is no reason for him to part ways with Robin Dutt’s
squad. The agent claimed that the midfielder will straightaway make his way into the Werkself line-up once he is fit and ready to play.
While talking to a local website, Moretti further added, "There is nothing to [the rumours]. Tranquillo feels comfortable in Leverkusen and is playing in his seventh year at the club. You can never rule out anything, no one knows what will happen next year,
but for now he is focused on Bayer Leverkusen."
For his part, Barnetta has also ruled out a move away from the club. He admitted about the interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and England but wanted to continue playing for Leverkusen and honour his deal with the side. The midfielder’s current contract expires at the conclusion
of this year’s campaign.
The Swiss joined Leverkusen in 2004 but was loaned out to Hannover the same year. After spending a year on loan, the player returned to BayArena. He has 180 league games under his belt so far, bagging 23 goals during the process. The player made his Switzerland
debut in 2004 and has eight goals from 59 appearances.
