Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno wants to continue playing at BayArena - Bundesliga News
Having joined on loan from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 during the summer, Bernd Leno has expressed desire of extending his stay at Bayer Leverkusen. The player will run out of his contract at the end of December after which he’ll have to head back to Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Leno also commented on the credibility of Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, and wished to emulate him. He also insisted on earning a place in the German national team some day, having already represented his country at different youth levels.
Stuttgart officials allowed Leno to join Leverkusen during summers following injuries to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabian-Giefer-c13104 and Rene Adler. The youngster, ever since, has had an outstanding stint with the Werkself and now wants to extend his stay at BayArena.
The Werkself officials have also previously showed interest in retaining the teenager on a permanent basis. It is believed that Leverkusen are preparing an official bid for the shot stopper and would recruit him permanently before the end of his loan period.
For his part, Leno has admitted of his interest in representing Bayer and urged Stuttgart officials to react positively to Leverkusen’s offer.
He believes that he is lucky to be playing in the Champions League, and regarded it a life time experience especially playing against the likes of Chelsea and Valencia.
The shot stopper also reserved praise for Bayern Munich’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 and wished to fill in his boots at some stage of his career. He rated Die Roten custodian as the best in the world and wished him success for the remainder of his career.
"It was a great experience to win the [2009] Under-17 European Championship, and I have learned that as a substitute one should be patient. Sometimes it takes time to reach a goal.” he said.
The goalie concluded his remarks by saying:
