Bayer Leverkusen interested in Guillaume Gillet
Reports suggest that the Bundesliga giants, Bayer Leverkusen, are showing keen interest in the Anderlecht defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillaume-Gillet-c15330. The midfielder is young sensation at the Belgian Pro League and has showed his willingness to be a part of Bundesliga.
Gillet confirmed the news saying, “Leverkusen's sporting director Rudi Voeller recently approached my agent. The January transfer window closes on Monday though and a winter transfer isn't really an option. Maybe something will happen during the summer transfer
window. Voeller told my agent that Leverkusen sees me as an interesting player and they'll continue to follow my progress in the upcoming months.”
The Belgian footballer can play as a fullback as well as a defender, making him a great choice for many teams. Moreover, he fits the requirements of the Factory Squad who are in a dire need of a midfielder and a full back.
Werkself has been a top team in the Bundesliga this season securing the 2nd spot on the points table, behind Borussia Dortmund. But there have been some issues for the German outfit due to injuries to its key players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270 and Tranquillo
Barnetta.
Barnetta received injury during a friendly match against Bochum, and is expected to stay out of action for the rest of the season. The Head Coach Jupp Heynckes confirmed the injury and said that the team will find a replacement for the player and even though
it is disappointing, Werkself will have to go on without the defender. Barnetta is said to undergo a surgery and will be back in action as soon as he recovers.
Same was the case with the star player Michael Ballack, who had been on the sidelines for almost 8 months and recently recovered from his injury. The midfielder made his comeback in the same match against Bochum. However, Ballack is considering his options
and might be moving to the fellow Bundesliga team, Wolfsburg.
Leverkusen would be looking forward to sign the youngster as a possible replacement for the departing and injured players, and would have the facility to place him either in the midfield or as a fullback.
