chances of challenging for the title. He admitted that the team’s performance was pathetic against Mainz and hoped they make a comeback against Werder Bremen next week.

Dutt claimed that Leverkusen missed a chance to win the title last term. He insisted that the team had defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and there was a very good chance to put pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s side at the top but the win
was followed by a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach.
“Last year Leverkusen had a good win against Dortmund and everybody said "what a team", then they lost their next match 6-3 and Dortmund won the league. That is just the way it is,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

“Yesterday was bad. I can't say it any other way. That is not the way we want to play but you won't see me losing my temper. This team has quality and I am responsible for how we perform on the pitch, so let's see what we can do
against Werder Bremen,” he concluded.
Bayer Leverkusen were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal after a defeat in the first round at the hands of Dynamo Dresden.
