Bayer Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle all praise for the DFB Scouting system – Bundesliga news
Bayer Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle has come out in praise for the DFB scouting system, which has done extraordinary work in the recent emergence of young talent. He believes that it is one of the best and approved systems which has produced well known
players and still going strong.
Schurrle is also amongst those players who have been introduced by the same scouting system.
While talking to a local website regarding the scouting system, the forward mentioned, "Every player has to find their own path and obviously you have to make a lot of sacrifices from a very young age. You also have to have the desire, and enjoy it enough
to punish yourself every day in order to improve. I found my way and trained as much as I possibly could."
The player first came to the scene in 2009 when he signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166. Slowly and gradually the striker started winning several accolades with his impressive performances. He became a big hit at the club with the passage of time and started scoring goals
on a consistent basis.
The youngster spent two years at Coface Arena, bagging 20 league goals from 66 appearances.
Leverkusen officials then took note of Schurrle’s talent and made a handsome bid for the 20-year-old. The O-Fives sold the striker to the 2010/11 runners-up during this year’s summer transfer window.
In spite of getting regular chances to establish his place in Robin Dutt’s starting XI, the former Mainz player has failed to live up to the expectations. The German international has so far appeared six times for the club without getting a single goal under
his belt.
The youngster concluded the talks by saying, "I think it's got a lot to do with the DFB scouting system that was introduced around ten years ago. Talented players are spotted early and given both individual and team coaching. Clubs are promoting youth work
and it's certainly something I benefited from greatly."
Schurrle landed at BayArena in 2011 and is yet to open his account for the club. He earned his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut in 2010 and already has four goals under his belt from eight international caps.
