Bayer Leverkusen have ruled out the possibility of landing Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United in January.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 has been in exceptional form, ever since he moved to Manchester United. However, despite the player playing some of his best football for the team, he just can’t seem to secure a spot in the starting eleven.
The striker was United’s leading goal scorer last season and managed to convert twenty chances for the team. However, despite that fact, the forward was dropped to the bench this season and he is now way down on the pecking order, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736, Javier
Hernandez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 all being given the nod over the Bulgarian international.
During this troubled months, the striker has been linked with a move back to Bayer Leverkusen, the team he left to join the Premier League.
However, the officials at the German club seem to have been made aware of these rumors and they have decided to come forth and clear the air.
A Leverkusen official is quoted to have said:  “I have been reading that Dimitar [Berbatov] would have flown over to Frankfurt and that we would be in for him there to negotiate a transfer. That was interesting news to me"
"I am clearly out to never say never, but this is nothing we are looking forward to at this point in time.
"And from today's point of view I would also say we are not after him in the coming summer.”
The representative then went on to put his foot down, as he ended by add: “Usually I don't comment on speculation from the press. They can say whatever they want"
"But the only thing that I can say is that at this moment the eventual transfer of Berbatov to another club is not on the agenda."
Statistically, Berbatov has the best conversion rate at Manchester United this season, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson seems to keep over looking that fact.
The striker’s laziness and lack of pace could be deemed as a prime factor for the manager’s decision.
Nonetheless, should things continue in the same manner, the striker could be on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of the season.
