Bayer Leverkusen’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760 wants a move to Bayern Munich – Bundesliga News
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Arturo Vidal, has demanded a move to Bayern Munich saying that the Werkself have lost their opportunity after not offering him a contract extension. He mentioned that the Munich-based outfit have already struck a bid and it is
up to Bayern to accept or reject it.
Vidal had an outstanding 2010/11 campaign with the Werkself which invited interest from the former Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, and the Serie A giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003. Leverkusen officials hesitated in offering a contract extension to the midfielder but
changed their minds at the end of the season. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 Director, then, realized that it had gotten too late as the Chile international had already stated his desire to join the Bavarians for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
The 24-year-old urged Leverkusen officials to accept the bid as he doesn’t intend to represent the club any more. Club President, Wolfgang Holzhauser, claims that the midfielder is very much needed by the club and every effort is being carried out to retain
the youngster at BayArena at least for the next season.
The player himself enthused, "I want to go to Munich. Now. I absolutely want the clubs to reach an agreement. There is now an official offer from Munich. Before, there were only talks about it, now it is concrete. I wanted to extend last year and [Leverkusen]
were not interested."
Bayern Munich made a 10 million Euro bid for the Chilean which was rejected straight away by Leverkusen’s Sporting Director, Rudi Voller.
He clearly mentioned that Vidal is part of the club’s future and the Werkslef values the player much higher than just 10 million Euros. He concluded by saying, "Our reasoning is: Arturo is so important to us that we want to keep him no matter what. Especially
since, whether from [Bayern] Munich or Napoli, the offers are not high enough for us to reconsider."
The midfielder joined the Leverkusen outfit in 2007 after spending a couple of years with the Chile-based outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colo-Colo-c38847. Vidal has made 117 league appearances during his four-year tenure so far, bagging 15 goals in the process. The player also has 30
international appearances for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 national side under his belt since making his debut for his country in 2007.
