Bayern Munich CEO Karl Heinz Rummenigge has criticized the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea and insisted that they are destroying football. He claimed that these sides want to reach amongst the top teams in Europe on the basis
of money and that UEFA is doing nothing to stop them.
Manchester City have spent over 200 million pounds in just over two seasons to acquire some of the best players in the world and qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the previous season. Another Premier League side Chelsea

Rummenigge claimed that these clubs spend heavily in the transfer window and buy players at astronomical transfer fees and there is no one stopping them. He insisted that the Financial Fair Play rules should be followed strictly
otherwise it will be unfair for other clubs.

The chief insisted that this strategy from the clubs to spend heavily without any check is unfair for other clubs and it should not be the way to success and UEFA should take action as soon as possible.
“Because of their wealth they can make transfers and accordingly can improve the quality of their teams, and I think that cannot be the way of the future,” he continued.
The former Bavarian player added that over 60% of the professional clubs in Europe are incurring heavy losses but was delighted with the performance of the German clubs. The Bundesliga has been the most responsible financially
over the past few years in Europe and has the highest average attendance also.
“And that led to UEFA finding that over 60% of all professional clubs in Europe are taking financial losses,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will face Manchester City in their next UEFA Champions League fixture at Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
