Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expects his side to comeback strongly after defeat
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is expecting his side to comeback strongly after the defeat in the opening fixture of the Bundesliga. He claimed that the result has disappointed a lot of fans and insisted that home games
play a crucial part in the title race for a club.
Bayern suffered a huge setback as they were downed by last season’s relegation playoff winners, Borussia Monchengladbach. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-de-Camargo-c16693 scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute to give his side a historic
win over the Bavarian giants.
Rummenigge admitted that he is disappointed with the result as there were a lot of expectations from the team. He admitted that the start has again been poor this season and that the team will have to live up to the expectations
of the fans and make a comeback in the next clash at Wolfsburg.
The former Bavarian striker stated that the team wanted to make a winning start so that it could be level on points with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and now it is again a game of chasing the champions as there is a three-point
gap.
“There was a lot of anticipation surrounding the start of the season, but we have to say loud and clear: that was a false start. It means that once again we're in a position where we have to chase the leaders after the first matchday.
That was something we wanted to avoid, but unfortunately we haven't managed to do so,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The club captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 remained confident to return with a win and claimed that it has only been one match. He insisted that the situation is not the same as last year when the Bavarians got off to a dismal start with seven
points in eight games.
“It's not the end of the world. It's not the same situation as last season when we only took seven points from the first eight matches,” Lahm added.
