Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists there will be no player sales in January
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that there will be no player sales in the coming winter transfer window. He claimed that the club currently has a lot of depth in the squad and cannot afford losing a player
at this stage of the season. His comments came after striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 openly expressed his desire to leave the club this January.
Olic has been on the sidelines since the end of the last season and has revealed that he will only stay with the German giants if he gets first-team opportunities, which are surely difficult in the presence of Mario Gomez. He wants
a transfer in January but Rummenigge has made it clear that it could not happen.
Rummenigge claimed that the manager Jupp Heynckes wants a full squad at his disposal and that the side cannot afford losing out on any players as they are already short in quantity. He insisted that the team is currently taking
part in three competitions and every player will get the chance to prove himself at the highest stage.
“We are certainly not going to sell anybody. The coach does not want that and we fully agree with him. We have a really small squad with only 20 players and we are probably below the limit in terms of quantity. I hope that we remain
in all three competitions beyond the winter break and we will then need at least this squad,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bavarian added that the players should put all their focus on the game right now and it is up to the club to decide which player leaves and which player stays in the end. He admitted that Bayern will have a talk with
the player’s agents once the first-half of the season ends.
“We would like to get to the end of the first half of the season first and the players should concentrate 100% on their football, then in January we will sit down with the players and their agents,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich are currently top of the table in the Bundesliga.
