Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reveals Real Madrid interest in Hamit Altintop
Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has revealed that Real Madrid have enquired about the Turkish International http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamit-Altintop-c15652. He confirmed the Spanish side’s interest in the midfielder and stated that Altintop could be on his way to Madrid in the
summer.
Hamit Altintop’s contract with the German outfit expires at the end of the season and the midfielder reportedly does not want to sign a new contract with the club because of limited first-team opportunities this season.
Rummenigge admitted that the Spanish giants have shown their interest in signing the Turkish International. He stated that the officials from Real Madrid have informed him about this and the talks could be commenced at the end of the season.
“It is correct that Real Madrid are interested in signing Hamit Altintop. Our colleagues from Madrid have informed me about their interest, even though they are not obliged to do so,” the Chairman said in an interview to a German website.
The former Bayern Munich striker stated that Altintop could face the exit in the summer due to the lack of opportunities all season. The midfielder has lost his place to the likes of Franck Ribery and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, who have been in great form all season,
and is in search of club where he can play regular football.
The 55-year-old stated that the club will respect the player’s decision as he told Bayern that he will not sign a new contract. He wished the Turkish International all the luck and hoped that he could be of great contribution for Los Blancos next season.
“Hamit has played only three games from the start and that is not enough for him. We understand that and respect his decision. He told us that he did not want to extend his expiring contract with Bayern Munich,” the German concluded.
Hamit Altintop has scored 11 goals in 99 games for Bayern Munich in his four seasons with the Bavarians. He also has 55 International caps to his name and has found the net on six occasions.
