Bayern Munich CEO lashes out at Manchester City over Jerome Boateng fiasco – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has criticized Manchester City officials for showing reluctance in selling defender Jerome Boateng. He mentioned that the club are financially stable and couldn’t comprehend their insistence on 20 million Euros for
the centre back. He clearly stated that the Bavarians were never willing to pay such an amount and have already started looking for alternatives.
The Chief enthused that the club made three different offers to City which were promptly rejected by the Citizens. Bayern, made a 9 million Euro bid for the defender which was later raised to 12 million and finally up to 15 million Euros. All the three offers
were deemed unacceptable by City, forcing the Bavarians to explore other options.
In an interview to a local channel, Rummenigge told, "You have to look at it soberly - the player is under contract with Manchester City and the decision lies with them. They have demanded a price we will never be willing to pay. At the moment they're using
a tactic that I've never seen: they don't respond, even if we try to contact them. And this is so even though they have signed two players for exactly the same position in recent days."
Manchester City have signed Gael Clichy from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stefan-Savic-c34022, who might relegate Boateng to the bench during the upcoming season.
The player had made his desire to join the Bundesliga giants public during the summer but considered himself unfortunate on the possibility of missing out on the move, though, he still hoped for a better result. Boateng wasn’t confident about his first team
chances in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and demanded a move to Germany to get more first team action under his belt.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international joined Manchester City in 2010 and appeared 16 times before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. He also has 13 international caps under his belt for the German national side since making debut in 2009.
