Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness claims Arturo Vidal has betrayed Leverkusen- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness has claimed that Arturo Vidal has betrayed Bayer Leverkusen after agreeing a move to Italian giants Juventus. He blamed the Chilean international of also breaking a verbal agreement with Jupp
Heynckes which stated that he would join Bayern in the near future.
The midfielder’s future had been under widespread speculation for the past few months as Bayern Munich, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 had shown interest in signing him. The player had expressed his desire to reunite with Jupp Heynckes at
Bayern but Werkself claimed that they will only sell to a club outside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
Earlier this month, Heynckes had claimed that Vidal is eager to join the Bavarian outfit. He added that the Chilean will move to Allianz Arena either this summer and if the talks do not materialize, next year surely.
“He will not go to Juventus. And also not http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 or elsewhere. Arturo Vidal will come to Bayern. If not this summer, then the next,” the coach said.
Hoeness insisted that Vidal has broken his word when he joined Juventus in this summer’s transfer window. The chief stated that it would have been very difficult for the player to stay after making statements to join Die Bayern.
“[Vidal] has broken his word. It would have taken great backbone to play at Bayer Leverkusen, having made the statement: I am going to Bayern. And I would not expect the player to have such backbone,” he was quoted as saying in
an interview.
However, the President admitted that he knew the transfer would be difficult as Leverkusen were not prepared to sell to a German club. He admitted that chances of a possible transfer were low and were mentally ready for any decision.
“I always thought that with that kind of transfer, the odds were below 50 per cent. I thought to myself: if it works, it's nice; if not, it's OK,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arturo-Vidal-c6760 is expected to put pen on paper in the next few days and will sign a five-year deal with the Turin giants.
