The Borussia Monchengladbach striker claims that the Bavarian giants are certainly the favourites to win the Bundesliga despite a losing start to the second-half.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 believes that the Reds are hot favourites to win this season’s Bundesliga despite being level on points at the top of the league table with Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.
He added that the Bavarians possess one of the strongest teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and therefore must not be taken lightly. The attacker stated that Dortmund are also one of the contenders but the injury to Mario Gotze could be a crucial
factor in their bid for the crown.
Gotze is currently suffering from a stress injury and, as a result, has been ruled out of action for up to two months. However, the Borussians were also without the youngster in their last game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485, which they
won by a massive 5-1 margin.
Reus feels that his side is certainly the less likely contender to win the competition out of the current top four. He also admitted that it would be inappropriate to consider Gladbach as favourites for this season’s crown.
While talking to the official Bundesliga website, the former Rot Weiss Ahlen star further insisted:
“Bayern Munich are still the clear favourites. They have one of the strongest teams in Europe. We'll have to see how Dortmund fare without Mario Gotze. He's a world-class player, but they showed in Hamburg that they can cope. I
don't know how the title race will unfold, but rating us as contenders is way over the top.”
On the other hand, Reus confirmed that he would keep on fighting hard to win silverware with his current club despite being put under immense pressure by Gladbach fans.
He mentioned that it will be extremely hard to leave the Borussia-Park outfit after gaining so much appreciation, but assured of his commitment to the Foals until the end of this season.
“Whether I get booed or cheered, it won't change my mentality. Obviously it's nice to be cheered than jeered. It gives you that extra push,” Reus concluded.
Monchengladbach will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 away from home in their next league game on Sunday, January 29, in their bid to stay alive in the title chase.
