from just outside the box. Magath’s side suffered their first loss of the campaign after a brilliant 3-0 win at FC Koln last week.
Bayern climbed to the 11th place on the Bundesliga table and are level with champions Borussia Dortmund with three points.
Heynckes was elated with his side’s last gasp win against Wolfsburg and admitted that his side have secured a great win because the opposition was in some great form. He insisted that the players have shown some great determination
to make a strong comeback from last week’s shock home defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach and that the win will surely give the team huge confidence.
The manager admitted that he was impressed with the performance of the team and that he is looking forward to the clash against Hamburg SV next week. He further added that Borussia Dortmund’s defeat is good news for them as now
they are level on points with the Champions.
“We played against a team in good form and even if the goal did come in stoppage time, I am happy to beat Wolfsburg 1-0. The defeat against Monchengladbach meant that it was incredibly important to score here,” Heynckes was quoted
as saying in an interview to a sports website.
Bayern Munich will host Hamburg at the Allianz Arena next week in their third Bundesliga clash of the campaign. They also have a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Swiss side FC Zurich coming up on Wednesday at home as they
finished third last season.
