Bayern Munich breaks Hamburger SV with six goals - Bundesliga recap
The fight to get a Bundesliga runners-up spot continued as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 were cut into six pieces by the rampant Bayern Munich as Armin Veh’s side travelled to Allianz-Arena on Saturday, the 12 of March, 2011.
The home team went in with 4-5-1 formation as Mario Gomez started up front. The visitors adapted a 4-4-2 strategy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mladen-Petric-c26139 starting up front for the Rothosen’s.
The home team started the game at a rapid pace and several runs were made towards the Rothosen’s goal but somehow, either the shots were blocked or went wide off the post. Die Bayern were in complete control of the game and enjoyed a large percentage of
possession throughout the first forty-five minutes. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 and Franck Ribery were causing a head-ache on a continuous basis for the visitors but Hamburger’s defence stood firm. It only broke in 40th minute when Robben netted his shot past
the goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Rost-c14103 to earn Bayern a much deserved lead as the first half drew to a close.
The second half saw the leakage of goals from the home team as five of the six goals were scored during the next forty-five minutes. The visitors found themselves two goals behind as early as in the 47th minute when Robben scored his and team’s
second of the evening. The scoring spree started and the Rothosen’s were not allowed to settle down at all as Robben completed his hat-trick in the 55th minute to earn Bayern a 3-0 advantage, leaving the away team speechless. Any efforts from Armin
Veh’s side was easily handled by Bayern’s defence as Ribery, in the mean time registered his name on the score sheet in the 64th minute. It was all too easy for Louis van Gaal’s side as they went 4-0 up with the quarter of a game remaining. It seemed
as if the home side were in a mood to score as many as they could and Thomas Muller, in the 79th minute, gave his team a 5-0 advantage, leaving the Hamburger’s in tatters. With five minutes remaining, Die Bayern were provided a helping hand by the
visitor’s defender Westermann, who scored in the wrong net to make it 6-0 for the home side. Referee finally concluded the game, much to the relief of the visitors and all the travelling fans.
Bayern Munich, with this win, have gone fourth in the table with forty-five points while Hamburger SV stays eighth in the table. Die Bayern will travel away, to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 in their next game on Saturday, the 19 of March, while Hamburger SV will
host 1.FC Koln on the same day.
