Bayern Munich captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148 joins AC Milan
Dutch midfielder Mark Van Bommel has officially been signed by the Italian Giants AC Milan. Speculations were rife that the Dutch 2010 FIFA World Cup sensation was going to be a part of the Italian side, but nothing had been confirmed
until yesterday.
Both the teams were involved in transfer talks since last month and finally it was decided that the Bayern Munich captain would join the Italian side. Van Bommel had been performing well for the Dutch team and the German side Bayern
Munich. He was a crucial figure in the midfield, but this season the 33-year-old midfielder was finding it hard to survive under Bayern Munich manager Louis Van Gaal. The Bundesliga champions are finding it hard to survive in the German League and that is
the reason why their captain decided to leave the club as his future looks uncertain, especially with Van Gaal more interested in his youth players.
AC Milan have a lot of aging players in the team hence their midfield often carries injuries. Currently, the Italian holding midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Massimo-Ambrosini-c24579 either are all injured
or facing a dip in form. On the other hand, Massimo Ambrosini is often left alone in the midfield especially with Kevin Prince Boateng going up front as an attacking midfielder while Gattuso is not playing for the team. Now, with Mark in the team, the Italian
side is definitely going to add some force in the midfield.
Mark Van Bommel joined the German side from Barcelona back in 2006 and this season Louis Van Gaal signed the young Gustavo Luis, which is why he wanted to leave the club. Milan are an experienced side with a lot of talented players
up front and at the back. Now, Van Bommel has joined AC Milan in a cut-price deal as his contract was running out with the German side.
