Bayern Munich condemn supporters protest against Manuel Neuer- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich have condemned the small group of supporters who protested against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 in a friendly match against Trentino Auswahl. The match was Neuer’s first appearance in a Bayern shirt but the atmosphere turned hostile
as a group of fans carried posters and banners stating that they will never accept him in the Bavarian outfit due to his past with arch-rivals Schalke 04.
Bayern thrashed the minnows 15-0 in the friendly as Neuer played for the first time for the club. The fans carried banners which said:
“You can save as many balls as you like. We will never accept you in our shirt.”
The club issued an official statement referring to the incident and claimed that Bayern condemns the situation against the player and heavily criticised the group of supporters. Bayern also revealed that the fan group is not registered
with the club and the insisted that the former German champions are totally against this kind of negative propaganda.
“Bayern Munich distanced themselves from both the banner displayed against Manuel Neuer, as well as those who were part of this small group. We also wish to make it known that this was a very small group that is not registered
with Bayern,” said a statement on the club’s official website.
As a result, the German giants have distanced from the group of supporters and revealed that they will now face a boycott of the Allianz Arena as the club had earlier urged fans not to involve themselves in any insulting act against
the former Schalke player.
"As a result of the round-table talks, it was agreed that that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 be seen by all fans as a member of the Bayern Munich team, that he will be treated with respect and will not be subjected to insults," said the statement.
Manuel Neuer joined rivals Bayern Munich in this summer’s transfer window for an estimated fee of 18 million Euros and signed a five-year contract. The player’s transfer sparked major controversy as Schalke fans criticized the
German international, when they came to know Bayern were in for him.
