Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber blasts referee for unfair decision against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003- UCL news
Bayern Munich manager Holger Badstuber has blasted referee Bjorn Kuipers for giving him a second yellow card against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League clash at Allianz Arena. He stated that Kuipers made a host of poor decisions
and was unfair on the Bavarian outfit.
Die Bayern downed Italian giants Napoli 3-2 in a Champions League Group-A clash to make their way to the next round in the competition. The side scored three goals in the first-half courtesy a Mario Gomez hat trick but conceded
two goals after the interval to sneak a marginal win at home.
Badstuber claimed that the referee lost the plot in the last quarter of the match and made some very poor decisions. He criticised the Italians for playing some very physical football after they went down by three goals and the
official continuously helped them.
“The referee did not have things under control in the last half hour. Even the free kick decision before the 3-2 goal was not justified. The Italians are naturally hot-headed. If things do not go well, they start to play unfairly
and look for contact,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international admitted that the Bavarians were targeted by Napoli and there were many clear fouls which were never given. He insisted that he had no contact whatsoever with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 but he fell and the referee
helped the Italians again by sending him off.
“But the referee played an important role, with his dismissals and foul decisions when there was little reason. That was just unfair. It was a normal running duel and Cavani fell before making contact with me. I did not touch him
but the referee immediately gave me a card,” he concluded.
Holger Badstuber has so far made 17 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions this season and is yet to score a goal in this campaign.
Bayern Munich are leading the Group-A of the Champions League with 10 points from the four games played so far, winning three and drawing one. They are three points ahead of second place Manchester City, who have accumulated seven
points.
