Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm admits Hoffenheim draw was fair result- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 has admitted that Hoffenheim played better football in the match at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Saturday and deserved the point. He claimed that Bayern lacked the energy due to the mid-week UEFA
Champions League clash against Manchester City and were rusty at times.
The clash between Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich ended in a 0-0 draw as Bayern Munich’s streak of consecutive wins ended. The visitors were looking for an 11th straight win after the loss to Borussia Monchengladbach early
in August.
Die Bayern still lead the Bundesliga standings table with 19 points from the eight games played. The Bavarians have won six games in the league so far and lost just one.
Lahm stated that the home side played some very good football and dominated most of the game. He admitted that his side lacked the energy and strength and did not look like winning the match as they were coming from a European
fixture in mid-week. However, he was happy with a point and insisted that a draw against Hoffenheim away from home is still a great result.
“We came up against good opponents today, and you could see we were tired and short of energy, so you’ve got to be happy with a goalless draw away from home,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The skipper added that the players looked tired and were outplayed in midfield most of the times. He claimed that Bayern had a very good second-half and that his side created scoring opportunities but could only get a point in
the end, which is still a favourable result.
“We never really got going and we often came up short in our tackling. We pulled ourselves together a little after half-time and made a couple of chances, but at the end of the day, the draw was the right result,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will play their next Bundesliga match against Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 at the Allianz Arena and will be looking to extend their lead over Werder Bremen, who lost to Hannover this weekend.
