The Bavarian giants have denied claims that Pep Guardiola will be taking over the managerial role at Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, rubbished rumours stating that former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 is safe and there is no reason for the club to replace him this summer.
There has been widespread speculation that Bayern Munich are eager to replace Jupp Heynckes with Pep Guardiola, who is currently on a year-long break from football. Former Bayer Leverkusen boss, Heynckes, has been criticised for his tactics after the Bavarians ended the season trophyless and suffered defeats in the UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal finals.
The chairman insisted that it is certainly a matter the club has to look into for the future but is satisfied with the situation currently and revealed that a decision on the possibility of a new manager may be reached before Christmas.
Rummenigge claimed that there is no truth in rumours and Bayern are definitely sticking with Jupp Heynckes for the next season.
“We will think about it calmly. You will get no quotes from us about this issue before Christmas. Only then will we sit down. Pep Guardiola? I have also read about this, but no one from Bayern has confirmed this,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, recently appointed sporting director Matthias Sammer hinted that Bayern Munich could go for Athletic Bilbao star Javi Martinez in this summer’s transfer window. He admitted that the price is certainly high but the club will be assessing the situation soon.
“Basically, the player is good, but he is expensive. One can always do some crazy signings, but nothing unreasonable. I know him well. Our club officials who saw him think that he is very good. Let's wait and see,” he concluded.
