Bayern Munich are eager to perform well in the UEFA Champions League this season after a series of poor performances in the previous campaign. Strike duo Thomas Muller and Ivica Olic are confident of the club’s success in Europe’s premier club competition in the ongoing campaign.

This year’s final of the Champions League is scheduled to be played at the Allianz Arena which is Bayern Munich’s home ground. The club will be hoping to play the final in front of the home fans and win the competition after the year 2001.
Thomas Muller insisted that it would be a dream to reach the final of the competition and play in front of the Bavarian faithful. He is hopeful of the team having a successful season and doing well in the European competition.
Bayern will start their Champions League campaign with a qualifying play-off against FC Zurich on Wednesday at home. The first of the two legs will be played at Allianz Arena and Muller is aiming for a convincing victory.
“Reaching the final would be a dream come true,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

He admitted that Champions League is the best competition in Europe and winning it would be a huge honour.
The former Hamburg player stated that taking part in Europe is the utmost priority and winning against Zurich will be very important.
“The Champions League is an absolute highlight for me. As a kid I looked forward to the TV coverage the entire week. The competition is simply the best there is. We have to take part,” he added.
Bayern Munich will travel to FC Zurich for the second-leg of the tie next week.
