Bayern Munich keenly observing PSV Eindhoven’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dries-Mertens-c11679 – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports in Dutch and German media indicate that Bayern Munich are taking keen interest in signing PSV Eindhoven winger, Dries Mertens.
The pint-sized attacker arrived at Philips Stadion earlier this season in the summer transfer market after making 65 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237. Since arriving at PSV, the 24-year-old has showed phenomenal class, scoring 11 goals while providing seven valuable
assists in 13 matches.
Bayern Munich, who are currently occupying the top spot in the Bundesliga table, are reportedly keen to sign a winger in the upcoming winter transfer market to provide cover for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franck-Ribéry-c14044.
Die Roten were previously linked with Borussia Monchengladbach star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733, but the Belgian ace looks like a decent candidate.
Reports confirm that a delegation from Bayern visited Graafschap to see the pint-sized winger in action during the game against De Graafschap and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven.
The 24-year-old has performed brilliantly thus far at the left flank in every fixture for the Eindhoven giants. Twice he has scored more than three goals in a match. However, his performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370 at Philips Stadion on August 13 won the hearts
of PSV fans.
The Belgian International proved to be a constant menace in front of their home crowd. His impressive movement coupled with his pinpoint crosses caused all kinds of trouble to the outfit from Waalwijk.
However, the Eindhoven giants failed to capitalise on many of their chances to take the lead until the Belgian ace’s long-range effort found the back of the net, securing all three points for the home side.
Mertens has an ongoing contract with the Eindhoven giants that will keep him at Philips Stadion until the summer of 2016. Reports indicate that an offer well over 12 million Euros would be needed to lure the prolific winger away from the Boeren.
Should Bayern manage to lure the 24-year-old winger in the upcoming winter transfer market to Allianz Arena, it would certainly boost their chances of winning silverware by the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
