Bayern Munich keeping tabs on Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich have reinstated their desire of signing a quality striker prior to the closure of this year’s summer transfer window. Munich coach Jupp Heynckes is looking for a striker to partner Mario Gomez upfront. Heynckes does have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 and Nils
Petersen in his ranks but the manager reckons that a striker of Tevez’s class could work wonders for his side.
The manager clearly stated that the Bavarians are not ready to spend in the region of 40 million Euros for a new striker. He mentioned that Bayern have already spent millions during this summer and can’t afford to spend that freely again owing to financial
constraints.
Heynckes urged the higher authorities to push harder for Tevez’s move as the Argentinean himself wished to leave Manchester City at the conclusion of the 2010/11 campaign.
While talking to the local press, the former Bayer Leverkusen manager enthused, “If we decide to sign a striker, we’re going after a top class attacker. But who is available at the moment? Someone like Aguero would be a good signing, but he cost €40m. Tevez
also costs €45m. Those are the kinds of players who would make us stronger. The players who I want are not available right now. We’re not paying a transfer fee of €40m for a new striker.”
The manager, at the same time, breathed a sigh of relief after making it to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. Bayern defeated Zurich by a 2-0 margin at Allianz Arena in the first leg before registering a 1-0 away win on Tuesday, August 23.
He was all praise for his side that showed determination and courage right from the first minute. Heynckes believes that his team could go far in the Champions League unlike last campaign where they were knocked out by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the round-of-16.
With the transfer window set to be closed in a week’s time, it seems unlikely that Bayern would lure Tevez to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 for less than 40 Million Euros.
