Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes is confident that the club will be able to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of midfielder Arturo Vidal in this summer’s transfer window. The tactician claimed that the
Chilean has also expressed his desire to play at Allianz Arena.
Arturo Vidal’s future has been subject to widespread speculation for the past few months as Bayern Munich, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are reported to be after the midfielder. Leverkusen have repeatedly stated that they have
no intentions to sell the player but the recent interest from a host of clubs could tempt the club to sell.
Heynckes claimed that his former club is probably doing the right thing as he would also have never wanted one of the team’s star players to go. The manager insisted that in the case of Vidal it could not be a wise decision as
the player’s current contract expires in the summer next year and he could be leaving on a free transfer.
“It is legitimate to say that. I would do as Leverkusen coach too. It is not very wise to keep a player who has still a year contract, but wants to go. This has been the history. Arturo is a true professional, but you do know how
to react some of the audience, if nothing is going on,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach player also revealed that the Chilean international has told him that he wants a transfer to Bayern Munich. The manager is confident for a move this summer otherwise he stated that he would surely
try the next summer.
“Arturo has assured me that he wants to Bavaria, that he is totally behind it. If it does not work this summer, it will go next summer,” the former Leverkusen boss concluded.
