Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes disappointed with Monchengladbach loss- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has expressed his disappointment on the team’s 1-0 loss against Borussia Monchengladbach. He stated that Bayern were way behind their usual pace and failed to impress in the opening fixture of
the season.
Bayern faced defeat at the hands of Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena courtesy a goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-de-Camargo-c16693 in the second-half. The striker headed the ball in and it was all credit to some poor defending and goalkeeping from
Jerome Boateng and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 respectively.
Heynckes admitted that his side lacked the attacking instinct in the match and failed to convert the chances. He rued the missed opportunities throughout the match and was not impressed by the team’s defensive display in the game.
The former Bayer Leverkusen manager insisted that his team lacked the determination to win the match and added that he will make sure the same mistakes are not repeated in the future.
“We should have upped the pace and moved the ball wide more often, but we weren’t determined enough to prise apart a team which came here and set out their defensive stall,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Bayern’s official
website.
The tactician also praised the opposition for being very well organized. He insisted that it was a very tough task for Monchengladbach to start the season with a win at Allianz Arena after the dismal campaign last term. However,
he added that the Bayern players played their part in the loss and were way below par.
“Gladbach were very well organised. They set themselves up like a spider’s web, and we kept getting caught in it. It was never going to be easy, but at the end of the day, it’s down to us. We failed to turn our dominance into chances,”
the manager concluded.
Jupp Heynckes stated that the team’s next clash is a difficult one at Wolfsburg, who defeated FC Koln 3-0 this week, and wants to be ready for the clash. He added that the team needs to forget the defeat and get prepared for the
next clash.
