Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes insists his side can reach the Champions League final
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has insisted that his side is well capable of reaching the UEFA Champions League final at the end of the season. He claimed that the team can be a huge threat if it continues the current form.
He also targeted a win against Italian giants Napoli on Wednesday and admitted that a win would be enough to reach the knock-out stage.
Die Bayern will face Napoli at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday in a bid to secure their third win in the competition this season. They have already downed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Villarreal-CF-c40899 and English giants Manchester City and have played a draw against
Napoli in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. The side is leading the Group-A table with seven points from the three games played and are the favourites to progress.
Heynckes insisted that his team is not trying to emulate any other team as they do not need to. He admitted that Bayern is a dominant force and they will show it against Napoli on Wednesday.
The boss added that the opposition can be a threat with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 in the ranks but is confident of another victory at home.
“We are not aiming for other teams. Bayern are so dominant that other teams aim for us. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 run a lot, are aggressive and disciplined. That will make them dangerous for us. We are very well prepared and know how the opposition
will play,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man stated that a win would make it a lot easier for them in the competition as they would be in the knock-out stages and could shift the focus back to the Bundesliga. He is determined that the Munich
giants can win the competition and become the European champions.
“Naturally, we will want to win. With a win we can distance ourselves from the competition. After the draw, it was known as the 'group of death' and now we are doing well. There are some strong teams, but why should the final be
impossible for us?” he concluded.
Bayern Munich are still undefeated in the Champions League so far.
