Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes pleased with FC Zurich draw in the Champions League
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has stated that he is pleased with the UEFA Champions League draw in which his team will be facing Swiss side FC Zurich in the qualifying play-offs. He admitted that his side will not underestimate
the opposition and are aware of the great form they have been in.
Die Bayern ended third on the Bundesliga standings table last season and marginally qualified for the UEFA Champions League after some tough competition from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 for the spot. The Bavarians will have to take part in a play-off
match to qualify for the group stages of Europe’s elite club competition.
Heynckes stated that his side is by no means underestimating the opposition and will take the clash very seriously. He admitted that the Swiss giants are well capable of making an upset and warned the players against complacency.
However, the former Bayer Leverkusen manager insisted that he is pleased with the draw as his team has a good chance of progressing through to the next round.
“Swiss football has come a long way recently, and we’ll have to be very cautious. But I think it’s a manageable draw, and we have a very good chance of making it into the group phase,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to
Bayern’s official website.
The tactician was also happy that the first-leg is at Allianz Arena as his side will not have to travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016 at this stage of the season. He stated that it will be good that his team have to travel in the return leg as

“It's good we don’t have far to travel at this early stage of the season. We expect to have sufficient class to make it to the next round,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will face FC Zurich in the first-leg of the play-off round on August 17 at the Allianz Arena and the return leg will be played a week later at Letzigrund in Zurich.
