Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes prepared for the Bavarian derby- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has stated that his side is ready for the Bavarian derby against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 last week to get back on track. He claimed that the opposition can be a threat and can by no means be taken lightly.
The Munich giants’ brilliant start to the season came to a halt when they suffered a shock defeat to Hannover in the previous match; a game many had expected them to win. But they still lead the Bundesliga standings with 22 points from ten games, accumulating seven wins in the process.
Heynckes regarded it as a special fixture stating that the Bayern-Nuremberg derby is always a special game. The manager insisted that he knows what team should play and is confident of another success in the league. He remained confident to secure all three points but is also wary of the threat the opponents can cause.
“I think derbies are always very special, especially against Nuremberg. I have the statistics in mind and I could be very optimistic about the game. Of course I am optimistic, but I think that Nuremberg is a hard game to play,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bayer Leverkusen manager hailed the opposition’s defence and admitted that it would be hard scoring goals with the quality they have. He also warned his side against complacency and insisted that Bayern will have to be aware of counter-attacks as Nuremberg has players with some great pace.
“They have a good defense, they work very well defensively. When they have space they use it with their fast players and their good attacking play. We will need a very good performance, but I think that we can manage it,” Heynckes concluded.
Bayern will play FC Nuremberg on Saturday, October 29, at the Allianz Arena. The former German champions will be looking to get all three points and build their lead at the top in order to kill competition from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Schalke for the title.
