The Bavarian giants will face the Citizens this Tuesday at the Allianz Arena in a Group A clash. Munich won their first match against Villarreal whereas Manchester City drew against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 at the Etihad Stadium. The Bavarians are currently leading the Group with three points from the one game played.
Schweinsteiger claimed that cash-rich Manchester City have a world-class side and that they are capable of winning against any team in the world with the brilliant players they have. He admitted that it will be a tough test against a team which is surely better than Bayer Leverkusen, who suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern in the Bundesliga this weekend.
“Of course we know that on Tuesday we will face a team that is better quality [than Bayer Leverkusen] and also a team with plenty of individual talent. We had this game under completely but on Tuesday comes a real challenge for us. We must show that we can play in the Champions League against top teams like them [Manchester City],” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international urged his side against complacency and stated that a team like Manchester City cannot be taken easily. He insisted that Bayern Munich will have to show unity and determination in order to get a result against the Sky Blues and remained confident of a favourable result in the fixture.
“They are in very good shape. This is not an easy task when you look at their team. Since their players are very good, we must beat them with our team unity,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at Allianz Arena on Saturday in the Bundesliga to extend their winning run to nine games in all competitions.
