Bayern Munich open talks with young Energie Cottbus striker Nils Petersen
Former Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, have opened talks with 2 Bundesliga side Energie Cottbus over the sale of highly-rated striker, Nils Petersen. It has been reported that Bayern Munich have been monitoring the youngster’s progress at the club for
a long time and are now keen to bring the striker to the Allianz Arena this summer.
Bayern Munich have been in the market for a long time owing to the expected departures of German International http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-c9045 Nerlinger sees Peterson as a perfect replacement
for Klose and after advice from the club’s scouts, has decided to make a move for the youngster.
Coach of Cottbus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pele-c40189 Wollitz, also confirmed that the player wants to move to Bundesliga as well. "Nils came to my desk to ask me permission to hold a meeting with Bayern to discuss a possible transfer." Wollitz said.
Nils Petersen joined Energie Cottbus in the summer of 2009 from Carl Zeiss Jena and since then, has become a key player for the Bundesliga 2 outfit. Though, Peterson’s contract at the club runs until June 2014, the 2.8 million Euros buy-out clause in the
player’s contract might be exercised by Bayern Munich to land the player’s signature at the earliest.
22-year-old Nil Peterson signed for Energie Cottbus from FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 2009 after making 41 appearances for the German third division club. The young German has so far played 54 games for Cottbus and has scored 34 goals for 2 Bundesliga side, which
is an amazing statistic for a young striker despite being in the German second division.
Should Bayern Munich eventually land the player, it might turn out to be one of the best young signings in the Bundesliga next season, considering how highly he is rated by both Energie Cottbus and the Bayern Munich hierarchy.
