Karl Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of Bayern Munich, has ruled out any chance of Bastian Schweinsteiger’s possible move to any other club. Alluring midfielder, Schweinsteiger, is in contract with Bayern Munich and would not be able to switch club before the
end of next season.
Karl Heiz Rummenigge was quite hopeful that Schweinsteiger has done wonders in the last two years and could be a potential candidate for a gigantic deal with any club.
He ruled out the possibility by saying, "We will not let Schweinsteiger go to any other club before his contract runs out in 2012 season. I am pretty optimistic about his switch to any other club that he or his agents would find a rational deal. Our aim
would be to give Schweinsteiger a better and a long term deal."
Karl Hopfner, club’s vice chairperson, asserted that the club is in a strong financial position after successful run on the field. Bavarians has made a surplus of 2.9 million Euros thereby raising the capital to 206 million Euros.
Schweinsteiger, quite hard on the ball and perceived as a rebel on the pitch, plays with Bayern Munich and German national team as a central midfielder.
He has won many titles for his club including five German cups and two league cups along with five Bundesliga titles. He was elected for Bayern when he was just a teenager on 1 July 1998. The 26-year-old German midfielder was being linked with Real Madrid,
Manchester, Chelsea, FC Barcelona and with Manchester United.
Bayern is currently striving hard to oppose the speculations and retaining Schweinsteiger. Especially after strapping Philipp Lahm down to a new agreement recently and Thomas Muller showing his loyalty, the club has proclaimed in an annual general meeting
that ‘Schweinsteiger is not set for sale.’
