The Bavarian giants have signed Tom Starke as a replacement for Hans-Jorg Butt, who is set to retire at the end of the season.

Starke expressed his delight on signing for the former German and European champions and admitted that it is the next big step in his career. The player insisted that he is proud to have signed for the best club in Germany and
is looking forward to fight for his place in the squad.
The German Under-21 international had revealed earlier this month that he wanted to leave Hoffenheim after Markus Babbel signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108 from Werder Bremen. The player admitted that he did not have a role to play at Hoffenheim
after Wiese’s arrival and is confident that he will prove his ability at the Allianz Arena.
“This is the best club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and one of the three best in the world. It is a great honour to be called by one of those clubs. I am very proud, and I feel it is the confirmation of my good performances in recent years,” he
was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the shot stopper admitted that he had reservations regarding his second-choice status at Bayern Munich but added that it all ended when he talked to sporting director Christian Nerlinger.
“My time at Hoffenheim came to a very abrupt end, so I first had to seriously ask myself if I was prepared to accept second-choice status. But after talking to Christian Nerlinger, the matter was settled for me personally. I was
determined to come here, and I'm pleased it has worked out,” he concluded.
Starke had an impressive time at Hoffenheim as he made 36 appearances since his move from MSV Duisburg in the summer of the year 2010.
