Bayern Munich skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 plays down Barcelona comparisons- UCL news
Bayern Munich defender Philip Lahm has played down comparisons with Spanish giants and European champions Barcelona and claimed that there is no comparison with the Catalans as of now. He admitted that Barcelona are still the benchmark
for many teams and it would take some time to change that title.
The Bavarian giants are being widely compared to the current Barcelona side because of the attacking football they have played this season. Bayern have already scored a staggering 25 goals in the nine games it has played and have
a brilliant goal difference of 24. The club has only conceded one goal in the league this season and have a sensational defensive record.
Lahm claimed that Bayern and Barcelona cannot be compared at the moment and admitted that his side has some way to go to reach the level where the Spanish giants are. He stated that the European champions are still a benchmark
for many teams around Europe and will continue to be as they have some great players in their ranks.
“It's difficult to compare the two teams. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 are the Champions League holders and are still the benchmark for other teams to measure up to. So there's no need to compare us with them just yet,” he was quoted as saying in
an interview to Bundesliga.de.
The German international also warned his side against complacency as they prepare to face Italian side Napoli in a Champions League clash this week. He stated that the Italians have already defeated the likes of AC Milan in the
league and will have great support from the home fans when they play at the Stadio San Paolo. He admitted that the clash will be very difficult for them but remained hopeful of a good result/
“Napoli have played really well in the last few weeks, they've beaten AC Milan and have already collected four points in the Champions League. With their fans behind them it's going to be a really difficult match for us,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will travel to Naples to face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 on Tuesday.
