Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic hopes to make a strong comeback next season – Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399, has hoped to make a strong comeback in the next season after suffering a knee injury which kept the striker out for most of the campaign. Olic was ruled out for the season after he damaged a knee cartilage in an International
match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Israel-c2925. The forward is eager to return to the team in pre-season after being out for eight months.
The forward revealed his frustration on being away from the game for eight months. He stated that it was the worst time in his career and added that he now wants to be back to play for Bayern the next season and help the club return to the top. He admitted
that it was very hard to go through the injury period but it was the determination to play football again that kept him going.
“From then on I didn't think about the eight months, rather that I would be back in action again at some point. I kept that goal in mind and I knew I'd make it,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Croatian international expressed his delight on starting training again. He said that he is elated with the thought of playing again in the next few months and hopes to give it all to regain his fitness in time for the start of the new season.
“I'm so happy to be able to smell the grass again. It seemed like two minutes. It felt like I was in prison up there. Now I'm free again. I've had a goal every week. Every step has been a motivation. It's fun now. I can run and soon I'll be kicking a ball
again. I'm training for football now,” the attacker concluded.
Olic was one of Bayern’s most consistent players during the 2009/10 season, where they won the domestic double and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League. The striker scored 19 goals that season including two goals in the two legs against Manchester
United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
