Bayern Munich striker Nils Petersen has revealed that he joined the club because he wanted to enhance his chances of playing in the national team. The player admitted that he saw playing for Bayern as a huge opportunity in his career and had no qualms whatsoever in accepting the offer. He admitted that he has had less playing time since his move in the summer but wants to keep improving as the season unfolds.
Nils Petersen joined the Bavarian giants in the summer transfer window this year and signed a three-year contract to stay with the Bundesliga side. The player was 2.Bundesliga’s top goal scorer last season as he found the net 25 times in 33 appearances for FC Energie Cottbus.
Petersen claimed that he made a very good decision to join the Bavarian giants as it will be a great experience for him to play with some of the best players in the world. The striker admitted that it is his dream to play in the German national team and for that he needs some more playing time at the club. He further added that there is still room for improvement and he can be better.
“This is why you move to Bayern Munich. Everyone knows that if you succeed here, then the national team is not far away. I'd be lying if I were to say that I will forever be satisfied with my current situation. There is still potential for improvement, which I would like to use in the next year,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

“I knew there would be tough competition at Bayern. Each player at Bayern is of high quality. You have to be confident that you will continue to develop and push into the team,” the player concluded.
Bayern Munich are back at the top of the Bundesliga standings table after a win against Werder Bremen this weekend and have also qualified for the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League.
