Bayern Munich suffer shock defeat against Monchengladbach at Allianz Arena- Bundesliga Recap
Bayern Munich suffered a shock defeat in the season opener against Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, August 7. The Munich giants were expected to win the clash after spending heavily in the summer’s transfer window but were disappointing throughout the game.
Jupp Heynckes, who was up against the club he played for the most of his career, was left fuming on the sidelines as his team missed a host of opportunities to score and were on the losing side in the end.
Bayern started with all the three new signings of the summer including Manuel Neuer, Rafinha and Jerome Boateng whereas Franck Ribery was left on the bench and replaced by Toni Kroos. On the other hand, the visitors started with Igor de Camargo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Arango-c19652.
Bayern had the better start of the two sides and dominated possession right from the whistle. The hosts had some good chances in the beginning to go ahead but Mario Gomez headed straight into the hands of Marc-Andre ter Stegen after a great cross by Thomas Muller from the left in the seventh minute.

Mario Gomez had another chance to put his side ahead in the 49th minute but his header was again saved by young ter Stegen. The German international was unlucky again as he found the post from the resulting corner.

But the striker made up for the lost cause and scored just three minutes later courtesy some awful defending by Jerome Boateng. The former Manchester City defender let the ball bounce in front of him and failed to make the clearance as de Camargo’s daring header found the net.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 hit a thunderous low shot in the 65th minute which was again well saved by the Monchengladbach shot stopper. The linesman cancelled a Thomas Muller goal in the 77th minute adjudging it as offside whereas the replays suggested the opposite. The Foals continued to defend well in the dying minutes and secured a historic victory at the Allianz Arena.
