German giants Bayern Munich are looking to sign Everton defender Leighton Baines in the January transfer window.
Bayern’s interest in the England full-back was revealed back in October. Now the German club is determined to bring the influential player to the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich are set to offer 9 million pounds for Baines in January. Everton have so far been
unwilling to entertain the possibility of selling the defender, but the newest offer might just make them reconsider their stance.
Bayern Munich have severe deficiencies in their defence, having recently been forced to play inexperienced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Contento-c11113 at the left back position. Club officials believe that Leighton Baines would be the perfect man to consolidate
their back four.
Baines has been a standout player for Everton this season. Since joining Everton in the summer of 2007, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leighton-Baines-c21987 has quickly established himself as an integral part of the club. Under David Moyes, the defender has improved immensely, even being called
up to the senior http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello. Baines has shown he is a very capable winger, making darting runs down the left flank and providing dangerous crosses into the box. His attacking technique perfectly complements Everton’s playing style.
Leighton Baines’ stellar performances over the past year have led to interest from Bayern Munich. Everton manager David Moyes had previously stated that he does not intend to sell the defender. However, the latest offer of 9 million pounds might be too much
for the Everton manager to resist. Everton are in dire straits at the moment and need new players to strengthen their squad. With the limited funds at Moyes’ disposal, he might just be forced to cash in on one of his best players during the January transfer
window.
It remains to be seen whether Baines leaves Everton next month but for now, David Moyes will be fully focused on Everton’s match with Manchester City. Moyes will be hoping that the recent news does not affect his talented full-back, who will have to be in
top form if Everton are to break out of their recent slump.
